What is Continuous Connectivity?
Updated over a week ago

Continuous Connectivity is a feature that addresses the Data Rewards Limits section of HIP 82. By opting into Continuous Connectivity, builders can provide service for Helium Mobile subscribers in their coverage area, regardless of whether a subscriber has reached their rewardable data limit.

What happens when a builder hasn’t opted into Continuous Connectivity?

Builders who choose not to participate in Continuous Connectivity only provide coverage for subscribers who are below their rewardable data limit for that billing period.

If a subscriber reaches their rewardable data limit in a coverage area where builders haven’t opted into Continuous Connectivity, the subscriber will rely on Helium Mobile’s network partner, instead of people-built connectivity.

What is rewardable data?

Rewardable data is eligible for Helium Mobile Network builders to earn data transfer rewards.

Each subscriber plan has a rewardable data limit that’s determined by the price of their plan:

Plan Price

Rewardable Data Limit

$5

10GB

$20

40GB

Builders can continue to support subscribers after their rewardable data limit has been reached. While Builders will not receive additional rewards, Continuous Connectivity benefits the overall subscriber experience.

What are the benefits of opting into Continuous Connectivity?

Subscribers connecting to Helium Mobile’s network partner experience data throttling after using 30GB of data in a billing cycle. There are no data throttling limits when subscribers leverage the Helium Mobile Network, so by opting into Continuous Connectivity, builders are able to better support subscribers in their area.

Subscribers who have a positive experience with Helium Mobile are more likely to refer their friends, which brings more subscribers – increasing the amount of rewardable data for everyone!

How can I opt into Continuous Connectivity?

Builders can opt into Continuous Connectivity by logging in the Helium Mobile Hotspot Dashboard.
